Six Simple Ways to Add a Little More Flavor to Your Breakfast

Breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day by many. It can also be a meal that doesn’t see a lot of flavors. There are a few simple ways that you can add more flavors to your breakfast that can give a fuller feeling and leave you with a taste to desire until the next morning.

Fried Eggs Breakfast

Cheese

Whether it’s eggs or ham, cheese is an ingredient that can be added to almost any dish to add flavor. Shredded cheese is often added to eggs along with slices of ham or turkey for an omelet. Sliced cheese makes a delicious grilled cheese breakfast melt topped with slices of bacon and a fried egg.

Honey

If you want some thing sweet to start your day, then consider adding a small amount of honey. Drizzle a bit of honey on ham or toast, or add honey to your oatmeal along with fresh fruits. It’s also a delicious addition on a warm biscuit with a little bit of butter.

Fresh Fruits

Slice a few of your favorite fresh fruits, and add them to just about anything that you want for breakfast. Add blueberries or raspberries to oatmeal, blueberries to pancakes or slices of banana to cereal. Fresh fruits can also be added to a breakfast crepe with a dollop of whipped cream.

Beverages

Juice is a common beverage for breakfast, but there are several people who enjoy a hot cup of coffee. There are plain flavors that you can add creamer to in order to make them taste better, but there are also new flavors that arrive on store shelves with the changing seasons. Pumpkin is a soothing flavor for fall while peppermint can get you in a festive mood. You can pair different flavors with your food to make a great breakfast.

Syrups

There are multiple syrups that you can add to pancakes, oatmeal, biscuits and other items. Maple syrup is ideal for pancakes along with a drizzle on sausage links. You can also add maple syrup to oatmeal or a biscuit. A molasses syrup is a sweet treat on butter biscuits. There are also fruit flavored syrups, such as blueberry and strawberry to mix up your routine.

Sausage

One of the meats that can bring a high amount of flavor to your breakfast dishes is sausages. There are patties that can be used in biscuits and links that are a nice side item with pancakes. You can also brown sausage and crumble it so that it’s added to a burrito.

Breakfast is a meal that can have several interlocking flavors if you know what to use. If you want a sweeter note, then consider syrups or honey. Fresh fruits are healthy and can add flavor to other healthy items, like cereal or oatmeal. Try a new way to add flavor at least once a week to see what your family enjoys.
